the founder
I started FlameGrower because the agency world was broken.
I'd spent years inside marketing agencies before I started FlameGrower. Big ones, small ones, fancy ones. And I kept watching the same scene play out:
A Houston small business owner walks in. They've already been burned once — sometimes twice. They show me a $30K invoice for a website that took eleven months to launch and started losing them customers the day it went live. They want to know if I can fix it. Most of the time, they can't afford for me to.
Same agency playbook every time: flashy pitch deck, six-month timeline, an account manager who turns over every quarter, and a final product that looks great in a portfolio but doesn't generate a single qualified lead.
I got tired of being part of that machine. So in 2016 I walked out and started FlameGrower LLC with one simple bet: Houston small business owners deserve enterprise-grade websites, automation, and marketing systems — without the enterprise BS.
No agency-speak. No army of strangers in another time zone billing you by the hour. No 11-month timelines. No surprise invoices.
Ten years in, that bet has paid off in real ways:
- ✷ 30+ Houston businesses on our books — dental, real estate, nonprofit, professional services, retail.
- ✷ Bayou City Smiles, our flagship dental client, has been with us for a decade — and our retainer book mostly looks like that. We don't churn through clients.
- ✷ HTown Handshakes — the side project that grew into Houston's biggest entrepreneur network (750+ members) — because relationships compound faster than ad spend, and I still believe a real handshake closes deals nothing else can.
I'm not trying to build the biggest agency in Houston. I'm trying to build the one Houston business owners actually keep. The one you'd recommend to your cousin's law firm without thinking twice.
If you've been burned before, I get it. Book a free 20-minute call and let me show you what doing it the right way looks like. If we're not a fit, I'll tell you straight — and probably point you to someone in HTown Handshakes who is.
